I used to drive into Boston with my parents just to look at all of the buildings and unique architecture the city had to offer and this is where my respect for real estate sparked. Another take away from my parents was that if I wanted something, I had to work hard to get it. I have always been a hustler. Growing up, I had my own “lawn business” mowing a couple of my neighbors’ lawns, and this opportunity allowed me to enjoy my independence and value the true rewards of entrepreneurship.
It all started freshman year of high school, when I was offered an opportunity to work for a small family owned real estate development company, McSharry Homes. I started as a general laborer and it evolved into a management position – organizing daily operations and managing a small team. I’m currently a college student at Salve Regina University located in Newport, Rhode Island. I work diligently to balance my education and develop my future. The concept of becoming a real estate agent seemed impossible, but with time and attention, I was able to obtain my salesperson license in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
I wanted to share these simple steps to pursue a career in real estate:
• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a social security card.
• Take a 40-hour real estate course.
• Apply to take the real estate licenses exam using your course completion certificate.
• Schedule a test date.
• Pass the test.
• Pay your dues.
• Boom! You are now a licensed real estate agent.
Once I received my real estate license, I began an internship with The Fitzpatrick Team at RE/MAX. They are the #1 Team on Aquidneck Island and #2 RE/MAX Team in Rhode Island. During my internship and working in the team environment, I was able to absorb tremendous amounts of knowledge, experience, professionalism and support. After my first year apprenticing, I was added to their sales team completing over 30 rental transactions and one big sale!
My point here; with hard work and hustle, you can achieve anything you truly want for your life. Moving into 2021, I look forward to serving my community with a unique real estate experience that the Fitzpatrick Team has to offer. Whether you are looking to buy, sell, invest or rent — or whether you are looking for insight into the real estate industry, I have access to endless resources to achieve your goals. Send me an e-mail, I gotchu.
